About
Counsel you can reach. Judgment you can trust.
Ashgrove is a business and litigation practice built on a simple premise: one senior attorney, directly accountable, from first call to resolution.
The practice
Big-firm judgment, without the big-firm distance.
Ashgrove was founded after years inside large firms, watching good clients pay for layers they never asked for — junior staffing, relayed messages, and advice filtered through three desks before it reached the person who needed it.
So we removed the layers. Every matter at Ashgrove is handled personally by senior counsel: the person you meet is the person who drafts, negotiates, and appears. Fewer clients, deeper relationships, and advice that arrives unfiltered.
We serve founders, growing companies, and private clients from our New York office and remotely across state lines — in corporate matters, commercial disputes, and regulated industries where the margin for error is thinnest.

The Counsel
Eleanor Ashgrove, Founding Counsel
Corporate and commercial litigator admitted in New York, with a practice spanning venture financings, partnership disputes, and multi-state regulatory matters for growing companies.
Before founding Ashgrove, she spent a decade in the corporate and litigation departments of Manhattan firms — then left to practice law the way clients actually want to receive it: directly.

Principles
How we practice, on every matter.
Candor first
If your position is weak, you hear it from us first — with options, not billable optimism. If you don’t need a lawyer, we say that too.
Discretion always
High-stakes matters stay quiet. Privilege from the first call, need-to-know handling throughout, and no client names used without permission.
Clarity in fees
Fixed scope and fixed fee wherever the work allows it, agreed in writing before we begin. You will never decode an invoice from us.
Meet your counsel
Put a face to the advice.
Schedule a confidential consultation — you will speak with your attorney, not an intake team.
